I've been wondering the same thing.

It comes in two versions - the MR25 and the MR25P (rotor arms are angle up).  No idea why the two variants.

The upward angled one (mr25p) lowers the CG and supposed to make it a more stable, but not quite as agile.

There are a couple of fairly large threads on all this at RCG.  For the Google-impaired;

Personally I would wait ~6 months until Align finally gets it right, then go buy something else, lol!  Anyway, your $'s so you decide imho.

Cheers,

The general feeling amongst the quad racers is "who is this align company"

It might be OK as a first quad, but i think you will be sitting it on a shelf soon and building your own as 99.9999% of guys are doing.

If you want a nice kit, look at the Knife series from Multiwiicopter.com  They are based on the Gold Coast, parts locally available etc etc

But the vast majority of guys are sourcing individual parts and doing their own builds. You get MUCH better performance at a lower price than any RTF out there.

Another I would recommend is the ImmersionRC vortex 250 pro. While it's not a top of the pack racer I know a few guys running them and they are tough as nails, well integrated, RTF and can use standard 3s or 4s packs. They make a very good starting setup for FPV racing or freestyle.

I plan on picking one up for casual fun racing when I get a chance.

A good staple alternative if you like to build is the QAV 250 and/or one of it's incarnates...

I bought a cheap kit off one of the e-bay guys in China and for ~ $250 complete ready for FPV minus Rx (+minus goggles and ancillary parts).

Some good 'used' units even cheaper on the various forums if your a member or even RCTrader....
