copterx cx-3x1000 pitch curve issue
« on: January 09, 2014, 10:26:28 PM »
hello to all, i have recently purchased a copter x 450 with a cx-3x1000 3 axis gyro and have used the cx-pb001 box to program it.Everything seems fine except when i change the pitch curve from the straight line used in programming the unit,to the curve i want to fly with there seems to be no change (still have a straight line p.c.). The throttle curves have been set on the radio and are observed by the heli ok. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be the problem.i am not a newbe and have 5 other helis but am a bit stumped on this one. Any help would be very much appreciated.

hmm - must be a simple issue - if it follows the linear curve it must follow a change as well..

double check your TX setup..

make sure you have the correct servo swash type selected, etc... can't really think of anything else atm..

here's a handy ref sheet for you..

hi, thanks for your prompt response,i agree it is more than likely a simple issue something maybe inhibbited. the swash type is one servo and all directions and compensations are correct just no selected curved pitch. if i cant sort it out i might try a 3gx that i have spare although i have heard different reports using 3gx and multi blade heads in a scale fuselage.

Could you have throttle hold on and it's using that condition and not normal mode.  There not a bad little unit and it sounds like it's a setting in your radio,  not the fbl unit.

Apparently they don't work with multi blade heads, low head speeds ect ect ect
I must have a few faulty ones.

have decided to try the 3gx i heard it does support 2-5 blade heads and i dont see why it would not work in a scale (ec 135, 450 size) fuselage am using 2 satalites and the 4 blade head .If i have too many vibrations and cant sort them out i will refer back to the copter x as i would like to sort that one out as i have two of them and i also have a 109 that just needs mechanics will let you know how i get on ,maiden flight tomorrow.

you were spot on cam 80 , i had checked the pitch to see if it was 4-5 deg around centre stick where i would expect the heli to be just off the ground but as i had the t hold on and not changed the hold curve from linear it was still showing 0 pitch at mid stick, quite obvious realy.i had however changed over to the 3gx and of course that was the same, however i did have issues  with the first flight, i could not get any lift and ended up tipping over with just some minor damage ,so either the 3gx doesnt like the 4 blade head or the blades i used dont have enough surface area, strange blades narrower than a normal blade but with a tip the same as a normal blade, so from here i will try normal blades and put the 3x 1000 back in and check my 12deg pitch
