Freestyle Flyers Lounge- Laying the Smack !
« on: October 29, 2010, 08:47:47 AM »
Seeing we now have a field i thought i would make a lounge for us all to chat in.

"Australian Freestyle Flyers inc"

Our new field has to be given the OK by the VMAA yet, which will be no drama as it meets all criteria.

It will be another week until we have the documents all processed then we can fly here

The filed is on a PRIVATE residence at,

180 Bayview road Officer Victoria

THERE ARE A FEW RULES HERE GUYS AND WE NEED TO OBEY THEM PLEASE !

Guys we MUST travel slowly up the road so we do not induce dust and annoy the last house at the gate. PLEASE DONT DRIVE FAST

Once you get to the gate the road forks, take the LEFT track and follow it through the tress, where it clears turn up the hill to the left, the field is at the top of the hill

We will have 6-8 flight lines here with trees for shade!

More info and some pics will be up next week

There will be a working bee within the month to mow the grass and set up the "Shed" etc etc

That is great news Dale, thanks to you, Fredo and Biggles for getting us this far.

Any chance you could pin the field on google and put the link here, it is hard to work out which paddock on google earth from your description.

A couple of other questions.

Is the field accessible at all times, or is there some limit?
Are there any locks on the gates?
I am guessing there is no power available but just thought I would check, it will make a difference to what charging solution I end up buying soon.
When are we planning the first club meeting to get the admin part out of the way?

Let us know when it is all signed and sealed so I can go and have a look in person.

//Dennis.

1 inch above that marker in the green paddock slightly left
its actually a hill in the middle where we can park
The pic on there is quite old and doesnt show the treed area etc
it a lot larger than it looks on google maps

Dennis,

That brings up an intersteing point.

Bruce and i were there today, Iwas flying and burnt 3/4 of a gallon today on the fury 55.

we spoke about having a meeting of the members quite soon and discussing all the things the need to be done so we can work a plan out.

So how about guys we have a working bee and fly afterwards on sunday next week, say at a 9am start,
please bring brushcutters , I will bring up the ride on an probably a slasher avalible so we should get it cleaned up in a couple of hours with a few of us.

please post here if you can make it.

I will be there, my brush cutter and mower are both electric so won't be much help, I don't even have a proper shovel. :o Thats what you get from living in a townhouse, but I can add some man power.

Can you give us some directions on which gate we go in, is it at the bend after the house on the left near the A marker on the map above?

Hi all,

I'm only just kicking off with helis after many years of thinking about it. Dale has let me know about this club after I posted in the startupTorque.

I don't have much in the way of usefull tools but I'm more than happy to chop in and give a hand in any way I can on the day.

I'm yet to get a real heli. I'm flying a co-axial and a blade 120sr which Nitros and large Electrics snack on.

I dopped in to the lilydale club last week so it wouldbe good to meet some more heli flyers and check out some more gear.

What time is the working bee kicking off?
