Title: Plans for winter?
Post by: sneekypete on April 13, 2018, 05:24:07 AM
With the talk about how quiet this forum is I thought I’d try and get something started!

Winter is approaching, cold mornings and evenings, shorter days. What plans do you all have over winter?

I know I have a charging case to finish off. I was gong to try and complete it during summer, but I have pushed it back for a rainy day job when I can’t fly.

What about everyone else? Plans for a new build? New direction? Spend time to learn something new?

Take it easy everyone!

Cheers,

Pete

I'm going to try and use the SIM, just on those weekends when it's raining.....

Probably find myself building a new Heli and maintaining the ones I have....

Oh yeah and I just bought myself my first 3D printer, so that will certainly keep me busy!

What 3D printer? I’ve been thinking of getting one for ages but never pulled the trigger

It's the Anet A8 printer, I got it from here www.banggood.com/Anet-A8-3D-Printer-DIY-Kit-warehouse=AU (https://www.banggood.com/Anet-A8-3D-Printer-DIY-Kit-1_75mm-0_4mm-Support-ABS-PLA-HIPS-p-1130694.html?rmmds=search&cur_warehouse=AU)

Should see it late next week if i'm lucky!!

I am going to fly more in Europe over our winter. I am still going to be flying back and forth between London and Melbourne so will keep taking my Helis with me each trip. I have left my Protos 380 over there and this trip took my soXos 600 with me. Just the start of the flying season there but I managed to get out 4 times in 3 weeks for flying.

I’ve booked in a trip to Spain to fly at the Furtivos event near Barcelona in May and will be going to HeliFeast and the Whitehorse funfly in the UK and also Heli Challenge in Switzerland in June and July if everything works out.

I'm going to put a Compass Warp together and try one last time to learn to fly.  The good Lord could take me if I could ever do a recognisable stationary flip and stationary roll :)

I'm also in the market for a short wheel base 4WD.  Undecided on a mid 90s Mitsibushi Pajero or Daihatsu Rocky.  Good examples of either at like rocking horse crap.

I'll be spending some more time on my Hexacopter and getting it all setup right to fly it's own missions.

Cheers Dave. (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180415/3e91915cd0af368312baa9f7a746dccb.jpg)
