Collective dead around center
« on: April 09, 2018, 09:45:49 AM »
Hi everyone,

I wasn’t sure where to put this so here it is. I’ve got a G500 Sport running a MSH Brain2. I was flying stock 500’s @ 2500rpm, then changed to 520 Zeal’s @2500. After reading some concerning feedback about the Zeal’s I’ve gone back the the stock 500’s, changed from a 17T pinion to 20T and now running @ 2600rpm.

Collect stick around center feels really dead and floaty, almost like I have expo on my collective. Is this a result of higher head speed? The heli feels a LOT more responsive on the cyclic. Almost too twitchy.

Any thoughts, ideas or info?

Cheers!

Pete

Do you know what setup defaults you choose in the last page of the setup for your Heli? The Brain does have expo on the collective for the Beginner and Sport defaults. You can remove it by going into the advanced settings. I think for 3d and hard 3d it is already set to zero but worth checking your setup to make sure.

Thanks Dennis,

I’ve got it set for 470-510mm blades, and the bank I do my flying on is the 3D preset mainly because I like the higher roll rates. If I need to I can bail back to tail-in upright quicker

Well I think I’ve worked it out 🤦🏻‍♂️I’m almost certain what I’m experiencing is my own down wash. Oh well
