StickMover Feel the flight!
« on: February 26, 2017, 05:27:57 AM »

Guys have a look at this website and youtube. Looks like a very good idea and could be a big help to many of us. Help support these guys through their kickstart page and get this product in our hands :)

ps it will work in all 4 stick modes 1, 2, 3, 4

StickMover Feel the flight!

Learn to master 3D flying by watching and feeling artistic manoeuvers. See the moves on the screen and feel how the control sticks are moving simultaneously. StickMover guides you in learning the right moves intuitively.

Hopefully they will include movements for noobs like myself, such as "Take off", "Hover", and "Crash Less" haha.

Seems like a good idea, I assume they will be using Force Feedback like they do with the Logitech steering wheels to guide the pilot. I wonder how much they will cost?

Notice the pilot they were using was all thumbs? On a side note, how many thumb and how many used thumb/forefinger?

Having a look at the site it appears that they are using servos inside of the case. So we will have to see if this somehow has force feedback. As it is not a simulator (per se) I am not sure if FF would be any use. I may be wrong but it looks more like.... watch the video of the task you want to learn and at the same time your finger move in sync on the sticks with the vision on the screen.

I have put myself down for one so when it arrives (November) I'll let you know.

I will be able to tell you in a couple of weeks as they are promising hands on demos at Rotor Live the week after Wagga. Finky and I will be there to see if we can get in the line and give it a go.

I think this could be very helpful.

Anyone else on Brisbane southside want to go halves and split the cost when it gets released?

            Dear StickMover fans,

Today, we have some very interesting news for you:

FPV: Besides AEROfly we now cooperate with NEXT Flight Simulator, which is going to be very interesting for FPV-pilots. We’re really happy to present you the first FPV AVIskills soon.

F3C: Christoph Hammer (3rd place winner at European Masterships in Poland) is currently recording the first F3C skills you’ll be able to see and feels at the RotorLive tradeshow on March 11th and 12th. Thanks for all your mails regarding F3C!

Aeroplanes: Our pilot Robin Trumpp has already performed and recorded lots of AVIskills. At the moment, he is in Australia and has a StickMover with him. Once he has returned, we will start recording with him again to make sure our database keeps growing continually.

Preview: This weekend is going to be exciting: We’re going to meet some of the best FPV pilots to record some AVIskills.

Thanks for your attention. Please share our kickstarter campaign with your friends - we appreciate any support!

            Best regards

            The AVIrem team

                  Here is an independent review.

I had the chance to try it at Rotor Live for a few minutes and I agree with the review. It feels very strange the first time you try it but I think like the reviewer said it will help you understand where you are going wrong when trying new manouvers on the sim and possibly accelerate the speed at which you can learn new moves. It won't replace the Sim or practice but it may help as you are progressing through moves after learning your orientations.

I also tried it and it does feel strange. But I also think if I had some time to adjust the settings a bit it might have been a different story. Needed to be slowed down much more and alot more expo.

More questions answered, how cool that you could plug in a receiver at the field and "feel" your mates flying while watching their flight.

If anyone is keen on this and haven't done the kickstarter then I suggest you consider it now. They are only a couple of days away from the close date and need a few more people to sign up. If they dont get the target then effectively they dont get any money to move to production stage. While it might not stop them finding other ways to fund the project it will at the very least  add a substantial delay and possibly kill it.

My thoughts are that this is low risk as I have actually had my hands on the prototypes as have many pro pilots and they have a viable product, its not a smoke and mirrors. If they get the money I feel fairly confident you will get a product. By signing up to the kickstarter you do get a discount on the planned retail price and also get 100 skills instead of 10, so there are additional benifits.

I've never pledged before on a kickstarter campaign and only think I understand it.

It looks like I would now need to pledge 230 Euro to get one, but only if the goal of 125,000 Euro in total is pledged by all backers by 26/3/2017.

If I pledge 230 Euro and the goal is not reached, am I right to assume I won't loose my money?

Yep, money only deducted from your account if the project goal is reached.
While they could take everyone's money and not have to deliver, they appear to be far enough involved into the project and hobby to want to take it to market.

They have made the target now so anyone who joined the kickstarter will be debited after it closes in a few days and if everything goes to plan delivery will be later in the year.
